Like most things it probally depends on your medication. Alot of companies like to side-step such questions because there hasn't been enough testing to give definate answers and they don't want to get sued but they want to sell their products. From what I can tell from my research maca regulates your hormones and gets everything 'working properly'. It probally will mess up hormonal drugs (such as some types of birth control or diabetes medications.) Talk to your doctor before you do anything! Personally what I would do (if possible) is go off all my medications and try taking the maca (most people start to see results after the first week) and see if it doesn't help 'cure' some of the aliments you'd otherwise be taking expensive synthetic medications for.

Thank you. I wasn't really taking medications, I was on the pill. I submitted a ticket through peruvian-maca.com help-desk asking the question and they explained that it was not going to interfere with it because maca is a food and does not contain hormones.

Hello, I have been using maca for almost 8 months and I am very happy with the results but I am trying to find anyone that has been on maca for a while, I don't know if it is ok to take it for long periods of time, I have felt great for a long time now but I don't if I should stop or just reduce my dosage, I would hate for the symptoms to come back. I took maca for low energy, stress (and mood swings) and sexual libido decrease issues. If anyone has been taking maca for a long time and can give me feedback on it i will be very thankful. |
